Roman Numerals

Roman numerals are a number system used in ancient Rome and are still used today using the symbols I, V, X, L, C, D, and M. The rule is –

“A symbol placed after a larger symbol is added to it,
a symbol placed before a larger symbol is subtracted from it.”

Example:   99 is not IC (which would be 100 – 1)
Because we need to make it with 90 (XC) and 9 (IX)
So, 99 = XC + IX

1 = I

10 = X

5 = V

50 = L

100 = C
